We’re delving deeply into all the new features and improvements in the Solid Edge 2024 release this year with a series of blog entries that highlight them. We’ll talk about Teamcenter Share and Solid Edge SaaS in this post.
Teamcenter Share, a contemporary cloud collaboration tool, is included with Solid Edge SaaS subscriptions. Share is a comprehensive suite of cloud-based functionalities that facilitates remote, multi-device communication with coworkers, partners, and clients. It is integrated with many Xcelerator products. Simplified integration, fresh productivity upgrades, more storage, and file support enable you to advance your projects and foster better collaboration.
Powerful Teamcenter Share Collaboration Embedded in Solid Edge
Take full advantage of Teamcenter Share’s extensive set of collaboration features within the Solid Edge environment. Solid Edge 2024 fully integrates the Share online User Interface (UI), enabling more efficient processes for teamwork. Teamcenter Share is still accessible via a browser at any time, from any location, and on any device; the only difference is that you may now use Share without ever leaving Solid Edge. By removing the need to navigate between separate application windows, this saves users time.
The Teamcenter Share collaboration capabilities are designed to meet users where they work and may be accessed from multiple areas inside Solid Edge. Clicking the Share icons on the Data Management ribbon bar, Quick Access Toolbar, and backstage tools section will access the Share web user interface. Siemens Connector allows you to synchronize Solid Edge design data on your desktop and in the cloud.
Siemens Connector, which is automatically installed with Solid Edge, provides improved connectivity between Solid Edge and Teamcenter Share, allowing you to work seamlessly with your cloud-stored data.
Improved Look and Feel
- 3D panel preview: Without opening the file, users may now pan, rotate, and zoom 3D models thanks to the installation of a new preview panel.
- Kanban board changes: A variety of modifications have been made to Kanban boards to improve usability, streamline project management, and visualize typical drag-and-drop operations.
- Quick view of assignments: Without having to access the project, users may quickly examine assignments and modify their statuses or due dates right from the dashboard.
- The new list view makes it easier for users to see their tasks and projects. Users can simply and rapidly access information by adding, removing, sorting, and filtering columns.
- Better filtering: Click any column heading to easily filter and search tasks and projects.
- View and markup Microsoft Office files: CAD files are not the only format used for design collaboration. Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel files, which are frequently used by Teamcenter Share users, can be viewed and annotated by users.
- Markups can be easily accessed without opening a file by using the optimized preview property panel.
Expanded Access
Improved sharing: Assign tasks, communicate with users who aren’t actively involved in a project, and share projects. Once a task or message is created, Teamcenter Share instantly shares the project with the user.
Bulk Onboarding: It’s now quicker and simpler to onboard numerous individuals. Now, an Enterprise Cloud Account Administrator only needs to upload a.CSV file to the Xcelerator Admin Console to onboard many users.
Improved user management: Easily delete inactive visitors to maintain security and a clutter-free user list.
Improved exchange of information: Instant messaging is possible when notes are attached to tasks, files, and projects enhanced support for file sizes and storage
Users can buy more cloud storage if they so choose. With an active Enterprise Cloud Account, users can purchase packages in increments of 100GB, 1TB, 10TB, and 100TB, which can be combined to meet their specific requirements. Teamcenter Share now accommodates files up to 500GB, even though single file sizes are still rising.
Expanded File Support
The Siemens Xcelerator portfolio’s file types are still being supported by Teamcenter Share. Scene files, or Simcenter STAR-CCM+ simulation results (.SCE files), are now supported. PLMX files created by digital manufacturing can now be accessed online without the need for an additional install.
Technical Publications Integration With Teamcenter Share
Teamcenter Share is still supported by Solid Edge products, enabling users to collaborate more with internal team members and other business units within their organization in addition to external partners, suppliers, and customers. Teamcenter Share has extended the reading capabilities of HTML files, one of the most practical and well-liked publishing alternatives for Solid Edge Technical Publications, in addition to the basic Microsoft Office file formats that were previously supported.
The advantages of Teamcenter Technical publications can be viewed, shared, and managed in addition to the file kinds that are supported. Users may feel secure knowing that their paperwork is safe whether shared or kept thanks to Share’s secure cloud storage. Share utilizes cutting-edge technology for data storage and protection while adhering to Siemens’ security guidelines.
